How did you become The Guilt-Free Mom Coach?

To answer this question, it's probably best that I share with you a little about my background and the defining moment that brought me to where I am today.

For 6 years, I worked as an independent consultant for a multi-level marketing company. I put my heart and soul into my business and was driven to climb up the ladder of success.

When my husband and I talked about starting a family, I had mixed feelings. I knew I wanted kids, but I also wanted a successful business and I felt like it would be hard to do both well. We figured "there's no time like present" so we started trying. It took us a long time before I finally got pregnant and my perspective quickly changed. When my son was born, I was thrilled, overjoyed and loved being a mom. My business dreams and goals didn’t seem all that important anymore.

The defining moment happened for me when my son was around 6 months old. The ambitious, driven entrepreneur that I once was came back with a vengeance. Playdates and music classes weren’t enough for me anymore. I craved mental stimulation, adult interaction and a taste of my old life back. I tried working again but couldn’t shake the guilty feelings and I had a hard time finding the balance. I tortured myself with toxic thoughts. “Why do I want to work? Shouldn’t I love spending all this time with my son? What will others think of me?” I felt trapped. If I continued to be a full time stay-at-home mom, I knew in my heart I wouldn’t be the best mom or person I could be. But if I went back to work, I’d be letting my son down.

I made a life changing decision that day. I decided that I would no longer let guilt dictate my decisions or run my life. And that I would stop making choices based on what I thought I should do or what was expected of me. I read tons of books on the subject of balance, guilt, time management and self-care and I started to live by the tips, tools and techniques that I learned. I created a process for myself to be a successful working mom while raising a happy family. A lot of people noticed the change in me and wanted to know what my secret was. During that time, I helped a lot of moms who felt stressed out, overwhelmed, guilty and like they were failing at everything. I realized that there wasn’t a lot of support out there for moms and I wanted to change that.

I enrolled myself in The Coach Training Alliance Certification Program and became a Life Coach. I now offer individual coaching sessions, workshops and seminars. I have helped countless working moms who struggle with feeling guilty and would like to get rid of the guilt so they can raise a happy family and have a successful career at the same time. I’m confident I can do the same for you.

Who are your clients exactly?

I work with all kinds of moms. But I find the moms who need me the most are the working moms who can’t seem to balance it all. They feel guilty about their choices, decisions and actions and are being held back from doing the things they truly want. Their intentions are good, but due to the stress and guilt in their lives they aren’t always proud of the woman, mother and role model they’ve become.

How are you different from other coaches?

I ONLY work with moms. What that means to you is that I am very focused on anything and everything that helps you take care of yourself so you can take better care of your family. Because my focus is very narrow, what you get from me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works for moms who feel guilty. I've simply become an expert at this stuff and that's why my clients and groups get great results (and I throw in a healthy dose of compassion, humor and encouragement, which ALWAYS helps!)

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

The Guilt-Free Mom Program and workshops were created for moms who are absolutely committed and extremely serious about getting rid of the guilt for good so they can live the life they truly want. These moms are smart, ambitious and have good intentions but can’t seem to get out of their own way.

Being a real and honest mom myself, I'm known to work best with other honest moms who are excited to start and just want to know exactly what steps to take.

You’ll be expected to take serious and consistent action and to start being true to your feelings, needs and wants. No more excuses, pretending and no more self-neglect. You’ll experience a different way of thinking and receive full support while you achieve this incredibly exciting goal.

Who is this not going to work for?

Please know I'm very selective in who I work with, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren't suited for my programs and won't get the results for which they would have signed up for. (It wouldn't be fair to them.)

The Guilt-Free Mom programs are NOT for those moms who have been diagnosed or think they have postpartum depression. I am not qualified to fix, diagnose or treat postpartum depression and would recommend contacting your physician if you think you are depressed. I also won’t work with moms who refuse to invest in themselves.

Another type of mom I won't work with (without exception) is the blamer or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their assignments done or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We'll probably just not work well together and I wouldn't want you to waste your time or money.

What things do people talk about?

Often, personal behaviours are keeping moms feeling stuck, unhappy, or unfulfilled.

The behaviours may be the result of issues such as:
  • Guilt
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Stress/health factors
  • Unhappy home/work/career situations
  • Poor communication/relationships with family, friends, peers or colleagues
  • Unhealthy lifestyle choices - poor diet, lack of exercise, inadequate sleep
  • Financial difficulties
  • Low self-esteem/ self-image
  • Self-defeating habits such as perfectionism, control issues, unrealistic expectations
What exactly is The Guilt-Free Mom Program and what does it include?

Being a happy, fulfilled, and guilt- free mom begins with understanding where you are now, what your major struggles are, and how you can positively change the things that aren’t working for you. Then, it means taking serious action on it. Here's what the program gets you to do:

1) Face your guilt head on

Getting rid of the guilt for good begins with understanding where the guilt is coming from and what’s triggering it. We’ll look at some of the pressures and expectations you place on yourself and work on redefining motherhood so it fits with your comfort level, values and lifestyle.

2) Figure out your priorities

We examine when in the day (and how) you are making time for all the duties you have to do. We look at your schedule, prioritize your daily task lists, and schedule in “me” time, family time and date nights.

3) Become your biggest fan

We will look at how you are feeling both emotionally and physically. You will learn how to celebrate your accomplishments both big and small and the importance of loving, forgiving and listening to yourself. We will design a customized plan that will get you back in the emotional and physical shape you want to be in.

4) Listen in and take care of your needs

We talk about the importance of taking care of yourself. We look at all the things you love to do and how you can make yourself a priority without feeling guilty or selfish. You will become refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for anything that comes your way.

5) Love the ones you’re with

We look at all the significant relationships in your life and which ones have been suffering since you became a mom. We talk about how to strengthen your marriage so you can work as a cohesive team. We explore the dynamics of parents, siblings, in-laws and friends and how to stay true to what feels right for you and your family.

6) Set goals and dream big

Here we’ll talk about what you’d like your future to look like. We’ll uncover your passions and set personal, career and family goals. We’ll rediscover who you are as a woman, outside of being a wife and a mom and you’ll learn how to live your best life.

7) Bring back the fun

In this section we talk about how to take life less seriously. We’ll find ways to bring the fun back into your life, your marriage, and how to make lasting memories your kids will never forget.

These are the 7 steps of The Guilt-Free Mom Program that I've created after working with and talking to countless moms. With these techniques and systems in place, you’ll be able to handle any challenge that presents itself in a calm, rational and guilt-free way. Please understand that The Guilt-Free Mom Program is just an approach. We can customize the program to fit your needs.

Does this really work?

Absolutely! The result of this program is an approach that will consistently help you live the life you truly want without feeling guilty.

What results can I expect?

You can expect to:
  • Manage your daily tasks without feeling overwhelmed
  • Take time for yourself without feeling guilty
  • Feel confident that you are doing the best you can for your family and not give in to external pressures
  • Feel balanced in both life and work
  • See the joy in motherhood

  • Redefine what being a mom means for you
  • Be happy and proud of your life and all your accomplishments
  • Set real and attainable goals that get you excited about your life
  • Set appropriate boundaries with family and friends
  • Learn to ask for help
  • Be strong and learn to say no
  • Feel confident in your own skin
  • Work with your partner so you become a team
  • Create a happy and healthy family environment

  • Learn coping strategies so you can handle tough situations calmly and rationally
  • Explore who you really are and how to live your best life
  • Feel supported, encouraged and motivated to make positive changes to be and stay a guilt-free mom
How quickly can I expect results?

Obviously this depends on how dedicated and open you are to the work I give you. That said, virtually all my clients see results within the first few weeks in the form of less stress, less guilt, work and life balance, and healthier habits all around.

Most of my clients see results very quickly when they are dedicated to seeing change, open to the process, diligent with assignments, and absolutely 100% unshakable in their conviction to feel better, no matter what.

How can I guarantee myself that I will become a guilt-free mom?

Do all of your assignments and be totally focused and committed. Understand that it's not a "quick fix," it's not magic and it takes consistent action to get rid of the guilt for good. I want to be clear. Being guilt-free doesn’t mean you’ll never have a guilty thought or feel a negative emotion again. Emotions, both positive and negative play a vital role in your life. It’s good and necessary to feel negative emotions from time to time. That’s how you learn, grow and show that you’re a person with compassion.

The Guilt-Free Mom Program will assist you in managing your emotions that are stunting your growth and holding you back. Prolonged sadness becomes depression; prolonged anger turns into resentment; prolonged guilt becomes shame... you get the picture. You'll learn how to know when your emotions are normal, healthy ones, and when they are definitely not in your best interest.

All of my clients who have diligently applied every step of The Guilt-Free Mom Program have successfully become more balanced and guilt-free in much less time than they would have on their own AND have become way more successful in their work life. They have created a happy and healthy home environment and have been having a lot more fun.

Will I recover the investment I put into this coaching program?

I want you to stop reading for a moment to ask yourself, "What is being a guilt-free mom and living the life I truly want worth to me?” Have you ever spent money on chiropractic treatments, massage therapy, fitness club memberships and/or personal trainers, spa treatments or weight loss/diet programs? If you answered yes to any of these, then you already know the value of investing in yourself.

What you're regularly getting with this program (and my coaching) is what I call a series of "AHA!" moments that will move you faster than you would on your own. Expect to get a lot of these.

This sounds great! What are my options for getting started with you?
